WINE: Assorted Red, White, Dessert & Rose Wines from Lebanon

Lebanon is among the oldest sites of wine production in the world. The ancient Phoenicians of its coastal strip were instrumental in spreading wine and viticulture throughout the Mediterranean in the ancient times. Wine from the historical cities of Sidon and Byblos, as well as those made in Baalbek in the Bekaa Valley, where amongst the ancient world’s most valued. Lebanon now hosts over 40 wineries, producing wines that are winning awards at prestigious wine competition around the globe.

 

 

 

White Wine: Monliban Charme 2008 – $10.74

Vintage: 2008

Moniliban Charme is produced in the Bekaa valley on an altitude of 1100m. It has a very aromatic nature, with hints of violets and apricots.

Best served chilled between 6˚C and 10˚C

White Wine: Reve Blanc Chateau Khoury 2009 – $18.24

Vintage: 2009

Chateau Khoury, an international award winning winery located on the eastern foothills of Mount Lebanon above Zahle, at an altitude ranging between 1200 and 1300m. Reve Blanc possesses a wide pallet of aromas from white flower to lemon and grapefruit. with a variety of grapes, each adding richness and flavour.

Best served between 15°C amd 8°C

Grape Variety: Riesling (40%), Chardonnay (30%), Gewurztraminer (30%).

Produced in Karam Winery located on the tip of Southern Lebanon in Jezzine at an altitude of 1300m. Clound Nine, an aromatic bouquet of passion fruits, green apples, pineapples and grapefruits, full on the palate with its trademark crisp and lively acidity. It produces great balance, length and depth.

Fakra Winery located in the heart of Mount Lebanon at an altitude between 1200 and 1500m. La Fleur Rose has a light characteristic acidity precedes a finale of a pleasant freshness. Offers a very intense “saumonée” pink color. A pleasant and aromatic nose, with notes of exotic fruits.

Produced in the Bakaa Valley at an altitude of 1200m, Domaine du Tourelles has a noble blending of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ruby color with a beautiful vividness of sparkling reflections. The nose is stamped by delicate scents of morello cherries. The mixture is sweet and subtle. The initial taste is fruity and the tannins are silky.

At an Altitude of above 1200m in the Bekaa Valley, Clos St Thomas is a wine with a garnet red, almost Black Color, Hints of Bluberries, Blackberries, Candied Cherries, delicate hints of black tea. Full-Bodied and well belanced with a sweet spicy finish. Cmparable to the best modern Bordeaux.

Located at an altitude of 1100m, Belle-Vue Winery is located in Bhamdoun, which is in the heart of Mount Lebanon. Chateau Belle-Vue has an elegant, yet powerful blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot, the finest grapes in Lebanon. The winery was built in 1860 which was destroyed in 1983 in the civil war and then re-built in 1999 with the first harvest in 2003.
